President's Message - January 1, 2020
Welcome to the Marine Band of Allentown’s webpage! You will find an array of information pertinent to our history, concert schedule and community involvement for the upcoming season. As I construct this message, our Director, Tom Heinick, is actively preparing a list of outstanding pieces to be used for our Summer 2020 concert season. He, in tandem with our Music Librarian, Korey Schaffer, and her Assistants: Janet DeGrandis and Kathy LaRose, are working on preparing our rehearsal folders with a new selection of songs which you will find refreshing. Please visit our website frequently for updates and our concert schedule.
I would like to give a shout-out to our Director, Tom Heinick as well as our Assistant Directors, Russ Braun, George Fennell, and Kent Ruch for their outstanding array of music during our 2019 Holiday Season! All of them will be creating parts of our 2020 concert season which will inspire you musically as well! Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge our Web Designer, Curt Adams. Besides being an outstanding musician, playing Alto Saxophone with the Ensemble, he has taken on this colossal endeavor without a hitch. Thank you, Curt, for spearheading this task and keep up the outstanding job on our site!
If you are a musician and are interested in being a member with the Band, please contact Matt Kapun, Business Manager. His information is found on the website under Contacts. We are currently looking for the following instruments to fill out the Ensemble: Flute, Oboe, French Horn, Trombone, and Percussion. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30-9:30 PM in the Active Life Center, Allentown. Matt has all the information.
